Shepherd's Pie Quick and Easy in the Ninja foodie XL

Writer's picture: LiveToEatLiveToEat

2lbs ground meat

8oz tomato sauce

1 box dehydrated scalloped potatoes

1/4 cup instant mashed potatoes

I set the ninja to sear/saute and browned the meat. I decided on using 1 lb ground hamburger and 1 lb ground lamb.

I seasoned the meat with a dozen cloves of garlic, salt, black pepper, cumin and just a small sprinkle of red pepper flakes.

After the meet was browned I decided to add 1 lb of frozen mixed vegetables, one box of dehydrated potatoes net weight 4 oz. I also decided to add an additional 4 oz of instant mashed potatoes. Because I was going to pressure cook this pot I also added three cups of water and one 8 oz can of tomato sauce.

I switched the ninja hoodie XL from sear/saute to pressure cook and put the lid on. The timer was set at for 10 minutes. When the timer went off I evacuated the pressure and switched the lid over to the air fryer for an additional 10 minutes.

Was it a traditional Shepherd's pie? No.

Was it an amazing, easy, savory version of a shepherd's pie? Yes

Anything can be a great adventure! Even quick and easy meals that require little to no effort!
