Fresh Cut Russet Potato French Fries in the Ninja Foodie XL Air Fryer

Writer's picture: LiveToEatLiveToEat

Pretty simple...

Cut potatoes...

Soak them in a salt and seasoning brine...

Air fry them...

Season them again, while hot and sizzling...

And enjoy!!!

Instead of dumping a portion of frozen and processes rench fries from a frozen bag, it took me 10 minutes to slice potatoes. If you have left over potatoes, not a bad usage and very cost effective. I will say slicing real potatoes, adding seasonings you know and enjoy is nice and about a third of the cost of frozen fries. Plus dished to clean, I'm not sure if fresh cut fries will be my go to. This great adventure, was again, a cost versus convenience outcome.

In the end, the fries were crispy on the outside and gooshy in the center. Some were a bit too crisp and others maintained a bit of raw potato flavor. Better and healthier than frozen, processed & seasoned fries? Well, it's my opinion, kind of. There is a significant cost savings to air frying your own cut potatoes in the Ninja Foodie XL air fryer. In additon to cost savings they are much more healthy.

A frozen bag is usually a couple dollars, requires zero effort and maintain their consistency. On the other hand, slicing up a few potatoes costs, maybe, a dollar and requires a bit of effort. Health & low cost versus zero effort and, honestly, better over all quality.

Tough choice...
