I was feeling in need of something decadent, yet easy and cheap. I looked at various things I could prepare for dinner but I decided on a little frozen lasagna by Stouffer's. I picked up a couple of the 10.5 Oz double meat frozen lasagna is on sale for $2.50 each. The bacon, was another sale item at $2 a pack. A small pack, not one of those big massive ones, but it's perfect for a single person. Roughly, a $4 meal fit for a king...or glutton. 🤤
That's it, a two ingredient dinner.
First, I built a bacon lattice. I have a lot of experience building bacon lattices and it's really easy. You put down however many strips of bacon you want. then you lay down a single piece and make sure it goes under, over, under, over across one of the ends. Then you fold back every other piece of bacon. Lay down another piece of bacon and then just simply flap them back over and it creates a weave. Repeat until you're out of bacon, pretty simple. Confident the Stouffer's lasagna was probably bland I seasoned the bacon as well.
Here comes the hard part. I unwrapped the Frozen lasagna and placed it in the center of the bacon lattice. Finally, I folded the rest of the bacon lattice around the edges and flipped it
over. A perfect little package!
I thought about air frying it, but knew the inner core was frozen solid lasagna and decided on a slower bake setting. I went for 300° for 20 minutes and upon inspection, decided it needed another round of heat.
I kicked it up to 400°for an additional 10 minutes to crisp the outside bacon.
With a little hot tap water and some instant mashed potatoes, quickly created a side in about 30 seconds.
Yet another great culinary Adventure and a $4 meal to fill hungry hungry Hippo!
